Heavy rains expected for Valdosta

VALDOSTA - The National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting heavy rains in the Valdosta-Lowndes County area on Friday, March 7, beginning at 7 a.m. and lasting throughout the day with a cumulative total of 3 to 4 inches with intermittent light to moderate showers the remainder of the evening. The time between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. is when the threat of strong thunderstorms is the greatest and individuals need to be prepared for high winds associated with the storms.
