University Mourns Death of Student

The student was admitted to South Georgia Medical Center on September 6, 2007 with rare complications from a suspected virus. A highly contagious bacterial infection, meningococcal meningitis, was ruled out. SGMC officials have confirmed that no new cases have been identified in Lowndes or surrounding counties.
